ALL-ELECTRIC OPERATION
These turrets utilize a servo-motor for tool disc indexing.
Clamping-declamping is powered by separate electric motor. The turrets
therefore are "all-electric", they do not require pneumatic or hydraulic
supply for their operation. This feature(patent pending) saves the user
considerable costs by eliminating the hose lines and the power packs.
CHOICE OF SERVO-MOTORS:
Principle of working:
Clamp motor operates the drum cam to declamp the turret during rapid traverse movement of turret of indexing position. At the indexing position, servo-motor indexes the tool disc to required position.
Torque motor clamps the turret during the rapid movement of turret to next working position. Servo turrets therefore help in reducing the cycle time in two was:
a) faster indexing speeds because of servo-motor and
b) eliminating of separate clamping and declamping time by combining these with the slide movements times.
These turrets can be fitted with variety of servomotor's.
a) Pragati vector control motor with resolver feed back. These motors can be powered by dedicated 'Pragati' drives; as also by standard vector drive packages of reputed makes like Siemens and Indramat. This is most economical option.
b) Compact high-torque servo-motors of reputed makes like Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, etc.
